Hi! Ruoqi here! Currently, I am reading for DPhil in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford. My research focuses on studying mental representations of flavor, with an interest in cross-cultural contexts.  I aim to explore how cultural and language diversity influence people's flavour imagery, with a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods.

I always like to refer my topic of interest as “the delicious research”, bon appétit!

Before coming to Oxford, I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Psychology. My passion in cognitive psychology has led me to various undergraduate research experience covering topics on memory and perception. These experiences included episodic memory with Dr. Katherine Duncan at The Duncan Lab, visual perception and motor control with Dr. Tim Welsh at Action and Attention Lab, and multisensory integration with Dr. Jennifer Campos at MIVE.

Outside of my academic pursuits, I enjoy fencing sabre and have served as the W2 captain for the Oxford University Fencing Club for the 2023-24 season. In my free time, you may also find me wandering around campus with my binoculars, as I also have a passion for birdwatching.
